About

1. What is ReftLight?

Is a sound broadcast open to the participation of all artists.

2. What does it mean?

Is a cheap play on words. It is cheap but nice, like the Casio watch you bought from the flea market. It shines.

3. How does it work?

The process starts with the announcement of a new context via ReftLight.com. the sound works created through this context constitute the new ReftLight volume.

4. What does context mean and how is it used?

The context only provides you with a common starting point. From this point, you can go towards any direction.

For example, let the context of the next volume be a sound file:

  • You can listen to this sound and start working on it through the impression that it has left on you.
  • After downloading the sound file, you can create a new arrangement by copying and pasting or adding new sounds on it
  • You can interpret the given theme and record new stuff with your band in a studio.
  • Or choose from the countless other possibilities.

5. Is ReftLight a musical broadcast?

Not exactly. Any work that falls under the definition of sound can appear on any volume of ReftLight. These works range from a tune recorded with an acoustic guitar to any sound recording that you believe is relevant to the context. Anything that fits the Mp3 format is within the scope of ReftLight.

6. In which format are the volumes broadcasted?

The new volume of ReftLight is broadcasted within the two weeks following the final date of submission. This volume can be listened to on ReftLight.com and is designed as an album that can be downloaded to a computer.

7. Will all sounds that I submit be broadcasted?

At this point we quote from Horaley.com: “There is no guarantee that the works that you submit will be broadcasted. Depending on the number of submissions in a particular month, compatibility with the context and the characteristics of the works that have been submitted that month, this situation may change. If the work has not been broadcasted despite your submission, please try again rather than getting pissed off. If still unsuccessful, try one last time. If your work is still not there, than it is our rudeness, please excuse us.”

8. In which format should I submit my work?

The file that you submit should be in the Mp3 format. The name of the file should follow the Title of the Artist – Title of the Work.mp3 pattern.

9. How can I participate?

If the deadline is not over, you can submit your works by clicking Contribute button on the menu above. Easy.
